Anna Paquin

Anna Paquin, a Canadian-New Zealander actress. Paquin is a native of New Zealand, born in Wellington but born and raised in Winnipeg was first seen in the acting world with The Piano. At age 11, she became one of the youngest Academy Award winner ever for Best Actress. Anna Paquin in full Anna Helene Paquin (born on July 24, 1982 Winnipeg Manitoba Canada) Canadian-born New Zealand actress who as was a young girl won her an Academy Award for best supporting actress in her performance as the inquisitive and spirited daughter of the lead character played by Holly Hunter in the atmospheric romantic drama The Piano (1993). In response to an open audition call, she won the role in the role of Flora McGrath, the daughter of a mute Scottish piano player who moves to New Zealand in mid-19th-century to marry. She was only nine and had no acting experience. As a teenager, she made the move to America. Paquin was the main character in the film Fly Away Home in 1996 and had a minor part as Jane Eyre when she was still a toddler. Paquin portrayed Frankie Addams as a child in the 1996 television adaptation of Carson McCullers novel The Member of the Wedding. Paquin was also in the role of the queen of Spain, in Steven Spielbergs 1997 feature film Amistad. She played teenagers on Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (2000) as well as A Walk on the Moon (2000). She portrayed her character groupie Polexia Aphrodisa in Almost Famous (2000).
